Mr. Scheer’s practice includes civil litigation, insurance coverage/bad faith, regulatory licensing and compliance, and corporate formation and governance. In both the first-party, and third-party, contexts, Mr. Scheer’s work entails the investigation, risk management, and litigation of complicated insurance claims and coverage in significant commercial, construction defect, and personal injury cases. He has successfully argued cases before both federal and state courts including the Arizona Supreme Court and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Recently, Mr. Scheer has expanded his practice to include trust administration and assisting families with members who are substantially impaired – issues covering, special needs trusts, guardianship, conservatorship, and eligibility for Arizona Long Term Care System. Prior to law school Mr. Scheer worked as a newspaper reporter and, before that, as a staffer for the U.S. Senate on both the Judiciary Committee and the Subcommittee on Labor & Human Relations. Over the years, Mr. Scheer has also published several articles in law journals and other publications.
